What This Graph Tells Us
This graph tells us the total number of riparian acreage planted in Skagit County.
Why This Measure Matters
As the Skagit River is the only river in WA with all 5 species of salmon, it is imperative that we work to protect it’s riparian habitat and being able to track and meet goals is imperative. What’s the Story?
Skagit County is known for being a steward of the wonderous rivers and streams that flow over the land. These house a variety of aquatic species, most famous for providing necessary habitat for the various salmon species that swim in their waters. Protecting the riparian areas around these water courses is essential to maintaining healthy temperatures and habitats for all the species that reside in them.
