What This Graph Tells Us​

This graphs shows us the number of offices and departments with approved Continuity of Operations Plans and / or Continuity of Operations Plans targets. 

Why This Measure Matters​

Having up-to-date Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans—and tracking their status—is critical for county departments and offices to ensure resilience and uninterrupted public service. Key reasons include:

  • Ensure Mission-Essential Functions

  • Minimize Downtime and Economic Loss

  • Maintain Public Trust and Confidence

  • Comply with Legal and Funding Requirements

  • Coordinate Across Jurisdictions and Partners

  • Allocate Resources and Prioritize Investments

  • Drive Regular Training and Exercises

  • Support Risk Management and Insurance

 

What’s the Story?​

Skagit County is working across departments to develop COOPs to ensure uninterrupted public service during emergencies and disasters.

Target

At least 2 (two) Skagit County Departments or Offices will have Continuity of Operations Plans reviewed, updated, or developed each year.
