Caution 3.1.d. Occupied recovery housing beds

What This Graph Tells Us

This graph tracks the number of occupied recovery housing beds in Skagit County each quarter.

Measure Status Legend

Green: 93-95% Occupancy

Yellow: 91-92.9% or 95.1-97% Occupancy

Red: Less than 91% or more than 97% Occupancy

Why This Measure Matters

Measuring occupancy helps tell us if we have the right number of recovery house beds available.

What’s the Story?

A healthy rental market has a certain amount of vacancies so those who need housing are able to access it quickly. For this measure, we’re using a rate of 5-7%. If the vacancy rate falls below 5% for a sustained period of time, that indicates there are not enough recovery house beds. If the rate exceeds 7% for a sustained period of time, that indicates there may be too many beds available and we should slow or stop adding beds.
