On Target Caution Below Plan No Target
What This Graph Tells Us
This graph shows us the percentage of total designated crisis responder responses that occur outside of a hospital, in-patient setting, or jail environment. Data is sourced from BH-ASO monthly crisis metrics and reported by Compass Health and VOA-Western Washington.
Why This Measure Matters
Most designated crisis response services occur in a hospital emergency department or jail. This overburdens emergency department staff and keeps people in crisis from getting the services they need where they are.
What’s the Story?
In 2024, only 4.5% of designated crisis response investigations occurred outside of a jail, the hospital, or another in-patient or residential treatment location.
Target
Our goal is a 10 percentage point increase over 2024 numbers, with 14.5% of DCR investigations occurring in the field.
