On Target Caution Below Plan No Target
What This Graph Tells Us
This graph tracks the number of recovery housing beds available in the county compared to our target for new recovery beds each year (red line). Skagit County aims to add a total of 50 recovery house beds by the end of 2026. We have added 31 beds so far, leaving 19 until we reach our target. By the end of 2027, we hope to add a total of 75 new beds.
Why This Measure Matters
Safe, stable housing is one of the pillars of recovery from substance use disorders. Recovery housing provides the stability and accountability individuals in early recovery need to help them rebuild their lives.
What’s the Story?
There are not enough recovery housing beds available in Skagit County. Providers report that available beds are filled almost immediately. Because residents often stay for up to two years, turnover is slow. Since 2024, we have added 23 recovery house beds. To stay on target, we need to add another 27 by the end of 2026.
Target
50 beds added by end of 2026. 25 more beds by end of 2027.
