What This Graph Tells Us
This graphs tells us the percentage of full-time and part-time County employees receiving a performance evaluation each year.
Why This Measure Matters
Regular performance evaluations reinforce engagement by clarifying expectations, recognizing contributions, and identifying professional development needs. Tracking the percentage of completed evaluations ensures that every employee receives feedback and growth opportunities. A culture of consistent evaluation directly supports retention by demonstrating the County’s investment in employee success and career development.
What’s the Story?
Skagit County implemented a new performance management software platform in 2025, and is in the process of rolling out new training both for supervisors and employees around effective goal setting, one-on-one follow-ups. In 2024, 12.7% of employees received an employee evaluation. In 2025 so far, 21.2% have received one. We expect this number to continue to increase as further attention and accountability on this initiative increase.
